Hello, my name is Wanda!

 As someone who has spent most of their life living between different cities – Eldoret, Nairobi, Ottawa, LA, NYC – I am fascinated by the production, consumption, and evolution of culture. I’m always studying the variety of influences that make up my world and the role that culture plays at an individual, local, and global level. In my creative practice, I draw from my experiences and from the experiences of those around me, to weave stories into typography, imagery, form, and code. In doing so, I aim to create engaging, thought-provoking digital and physical products that exhibit my interest in media and cultural studies.

 I hold an M.S. in Integrated Digital Media from New York Univesity (NYU). And I hold a B.A. in Design | Media Arts – with a minor in Film, Television, and Digital Media – from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).  
 
    I'm currently working as a Product Designer at Goldman Sachs in New York City. Through my professional practice, I have developed a passion for the complex and captivating world of design systems. I love being in a state of flow in Figma as I strive for pixel perfect precision in my work. I also appreciate zooming out to perform user research and testing in order to better understand people's motivations and habits.
